A companion guide for families, students, and educators to having a conversation in regards to the goals of public education in America. In particular the article looks at how race and social class can influence a quality education. Included are guiding questions for reflection, podcasts to present real-life situations that schools with predominantly Black, Latino, and Middle Eastern students face, and the consequences of the system and white parents failing to communicate.
