The tips are approachable for people at all levels of understanding and informed by the author’s own experiences as a mother and educator. The author encourages parents to get more comfortable with the uncomfortable and engage with children from a young age about race in order to help them develop a greater sense of self and have more positive interactions across racial-ethnic groups.
